1613 and doctorate of medicine in 1619. He was granted a
license to practice medicine by the College of Physicians,
London in 1625.
He authored a devotional book
entitled "The Comfort of the Soul" in 1654,
later re-issued as "The Gospel Physician" in 1656. A note
book of his, writen in latin about diseases and their
treatments, is in the collection of the British Museum.
